Hi There Karen:

You don't know me but I am Mary the first shift nurse here in ICU. I was off this last fri,sat and sun. but have to come back to work today. I saw what you had sent us and thought I would just send you a short note of thanks as we do not get that very often and never like what you have made and sent. It is so kind of you. I also read about your loss of you Uncle Ben and your neighbor and I am truly sorry for your loss, I know how you feel as we get attached to patients here and then lose them and it breaks our heart sometimes so I can understand how you feel.

But on the bright side Faith seems to be doing good today and she is awake and asking things and wanting to go home, but not yet. She has ask about you and if your ok. She has eaten a little bit of lunch today and that I think is the first thing she has had to eat for three days and she drank some juice. She shows much respect and I can see why you are her friend. But she is doing well today so rest easy as i think she is going to be all right. We are going to get her up this afternoon and walk her around a little and if all goes well she may be able to move to a room tomorrow. Dr Barclay was in early and very encouraged by her progress.

I will not keep you longer but wish you the best and hope you can keep a positive attitude and know that our thoughts are with you and if Faith knew she would be with you I am sure but right now is not the time to give her any down news.
